We usually sail mid-ship or aft after one bad experience in a foward cabin.  But like I said, I won't fear foward cabins on upper decks again, not after sailing in this one. Photos 2010

We did really enjoy the cabin.  However, the only thing I found wrong was in Holland America calling it a Verandah Suite.  It is definitely not a suite but just a regular verandah cabin.  We had been on the Maasdam previously and knew what we were getting but I am sure some people might be disappointed.  These pictures were taken this June 2009 on the Canada/New England cruise from Montreal.

Our stateroom was B180, a verandah cabin on the 9th deck, port side. It was very comfortable, and actually pretty spacious for 2 people, with plenty of storage. Once on board, we went to our stateroom, which was ready. We then got busy for the rest of the afternoon, unpacking primarily, and suffering suiteus envy as we missed the room we had had in the deluxe or superior suites of cruises past. But, we soon sorted everything out and got things put away, and the verandah cabin is actually as comfortable as we remembered. But, we do miss the larger bathrooms with the double vanity (forgot the shoe holder so things are cramped around the sink). Wifi repeaters on Maasdam cabin Deck 9 are outside the following cabins: Deck 9 port – 110, 128, 154, 182, 210 and Deck 9 starboard – 111, 139, 167, 195. Photos February 2012
